Update No.5 on the South Africa port operations and impact on Europe-South Africa (SRX) service

Dear MOL Customer,

Repair activities in the Durban terminal continue however as mentioned in our previous update the port remains very congested.

Below is an update on the latest port and vessel situation along the South African coast and the contingencies worked out for our Europe-South Africa (SRX) service.

• Maersk Leon v.175A/B – On her way to Durban with expected berthing during the morning of 30th October and departure 2nd November. At Durban a movecount restriction will apply, meaning exports will be restricted and there may be cargo rollover. The Maersk Leon will arrive in Port Elizabeth on 9th November, departing 10th November.

• Maersk Lebu v.175A/B – Sailed Coega (Ngqura) on 25nd October. Durban berthing is scheduled around 6th November with departure planned on 10th November. The Maersk Lebu will omit Port Elizabeth and Cape Town northbound. All Port Elizabeth and Cape Town cargo booked will be transferred to the M/S Maersk Leon v/175B.

• Alexandra v.175A/B – Scheduled to berth Cape Town on 28th October, departing 29th October. Coega (Ngqura) arrival is scheduled for 31st October, departing 1st November. The Alexandra will be omitting Durban and calling Port Elizabeth and Cape Town northbound one week early. Following the 1-week delay of the M/S Maersk Leon, all Port Elizabeth and Cape Town cargo booked for shipment during that period will be rolled to the M/S Alexandra which will take the position previously held by the M/S Maersk Leon.

• Maersk La Paz 176A/B – Will operate as per the standard SRX service rotation. All Durban import cargo loaded on the M/S Alexandra v.175A will be transhipped onto the M/S Maersk La Paz in Coega (Ngqura)
(note : no amendment of import to t/s or vice versa will be accepted after Monday 30th October COB).

We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused and we will do the utmost to assist you to the best of our abilities.
