Transportation of In-Bond Merchandise in the United States
Dear MOL Customer,
Please be advised that, effective November 27, 2017, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued an amendment to the regulations for the transportation of in-bond merchandise in the United States. This amendment is as follows:
· The six-digit HTSUS code (per the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States) must be supplied on the manifests for shipments moving in-bond.
· Changes in the port of destination or the port of exportation for in-bond merchandise may no longer be completed without prior authorization from the Port Director at the U.S. port of arrival.
CBP is allowing a 90-day transition period with full compliance expected on February 27, 2018.
