Transpacific Westbound PN2 Service: MOL Prestige (Update No. 1)

Dear MOL Customer:

On January 29, the MOL Prestige departed the port of Vancouver destined for the port of Tokyo via MOL’s PN2 service. On January 31 at approximately 21:00 ST, a fire broke out in the engine room of the vessel.

All of our crew are safe. However, five crew members sustained minor burn injuries and received first aid treatment. No oil was spilled. The fire is under control. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

Electric power is being generated by the emergency generator for critical equipment.

We regret the inconvenience caused and will do everything reasonably possible in the circumstances to expedite cargo delivery. Please be assured that we will provide further updates as soon as they become available. If you have any further questions, please contact your MOL sales or customer service representative. As always, we appreciate your business.

Sincerely,

MOL (America) Inc. and MOL (Canada) Inc.
