Labor Disruption in Eastern Ontario

Dear MOL Customer:

Please note that we have been advised of an ongoing labor disruption by truckers in Eastern Ontario which has resulted in congestion around rail terminals in Toronto.

Today we received the following update from the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA):

Negotiations resumed Tuesday Sept. 15 with members of the CTAO. We have reports that a resolution was reached in principal between the parties and that a binding agreement is being drawn and will be presented later today Wednesday Sept. 16. Once the binding agreement is accepted, it is our understanding that drivers are then invited to sign the agreement. It is uncertain if the movements of goods will resume later today or tomorrow.

Although we are hopeful of a quick resolution, our rail carrier partners have advised us of their contingency plans intended to alleviate disruption to our services and impact on our customers. In addition, MOL has created plans to address both container yard moves and door moves and will work directly with individual customers.

MOL continues to work closely with our rail partners to mitigate the impact. We will provide further updates as necessary. If you have any questions, please contact the Shipment Management Center at 1-800-449-7575, or contact your sales representative. As always, we appreciate your business.

Sincerely,

MOL (America) Inc. and MOL (Canada) Inc.
